Workplace First Aid Kits
Employers must ensure that the workplace is safe for their team members. No matter how prepared an organization is, accidents and emergencies occur from time to time, so it’s essential to be ready.
Managing injuries and illnesses in the workplace begins with an appropriately equipped first aid kit. Access to materials in a first aid kit can alleviate injuries completely or temporarily treat the worker until professionals arrive.
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) establishes minimum requirements through ANSI/ISEA Z308.1-2021. The code covers the various types of first aid kits, containers and supplies.
To ensure your team is prepared for any accident and emergency, read more about the ANSI requirements here and contact your Loss Control consultant with any questions.

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)
AEDs help evaluate the heart rhythm and, if necessary, combat ventricular fibrillation by sending an electric shock to the heart. These are potentially life-saving devices that are important to have on-site. For more information, read OSHA’s page on AEDs.
